Dola Banerjee [Images] and L Bombayla Devi bowed out of the women's individual archery event at the Beijing [Images] Olympics [Images] after losing their respective opening round matches on Monday.
While Dola lost to Canadian Marie-Pier Beaudet, Bombayla went down to Poland's Iwona Marcinkiewicz.
In a thrilling contest, Dola and Beaudet were tied at 109 at the end of the contest, but the Canadian sneaked through after scoring a 10 in the shoot-off.
Dola could only score an 8 in the deciding shot.
Bombayla also lost a nail-biting match. The Indian lost 101-103.
Bombayla was neck-an-neck with her opponent for most of the match but lost the plot towards the end.
