Leander Paes [Images] and Mahesh Bhupathi [Images] overcame their first hurdle, easing past Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon, to enter the pre-quarter-finals in the men's doubles of the tennis event at the Beijing [Images] Olympics [Images].
The ace Indian duo, seeded seventh, beat the young Frenchmen 6-3, 6-3 in the first round on Tuesday.
They will next face the Brazilian pair of Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa, who beat Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic 5-7, 6-2, 8-6.
