Three Indians, including National champion Chetan Anand, cruised to the men's singles quarter-finals of Toulouse Open badminton championships in Toulouse, France [Images].
Anand, 41 in the world rankings, stole the show, beating 92-ranked Oedum Kasper of Denmark 21-13, 21-16 to make the grade on Thursday. He will meet No 38 Andra Kurniwan Tedjono of Indonesia.
Anand will have a psychological edge over Tedjono as he had beaten the Indonesian in the Spanish Open semi-finals last week en route to his title win in Madrid.
Another Indian in the fray, Ajay Jayaram posted a convincing 21-15, 21-8 victory over Henrik Toth of Hungary to set up a quarter-final clash against Christian Thomsen of Denmark.
In the women's singles, Aditi Mutatkar defeated Spain's Molina Laura 21-14, 21-14 in the second round. She will now lock the horns with local favourite Elisa Chanteur of France in the quarter-finals.
