Team selection -- an update

Sorry, guys. I got my thinking right, but my arithmetic went wonky somewhere down the line.

The lineup I was recommending actually reads: Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin, V V S Laxman, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble, Nayan Mongia, Venkatesh Prasad, Abey Kuruvilla and Nilesh Kulkarni. With Debashish Mohanty, Sunil Joshi and Vinod Kambli figuring in the reserves.

The lineups that Harsha Bhogle and I had come up with have precipitated a flood of mail, both pro and con.

This in turn leads us to a thought: Rather than put the mails up, what we intend to do is inaugurate, before the India-Sri Lanka tour begins, Rediff's own dedicated cricket discussion group. With threaded discussions and, provision for email replies to selected participants and, above all, with the overall aim of building a club of dedicated cricket fans.

The Speakeasy, which is what we are calling it, is now being developed, and will be inaugurated on the Rediff site on November 18. Meanwhile, thanks again to all those who wrote in to correct my mathematical faux pas.
