India ended day four of the Ahmedabad Test on 17 without loss in their second innings, chasing an unlikely 374 to win the second Test against England.

They were given just six overs of batting in the evening after the tourists were dismissed for 257.

Although the draw is now odds-on, India's five-wicket star Harbhajan Singh, and England's Mark Butcher - who was out eight runs short of a century - are both convinced that their teams can force a victory.
"I think this wicket is very good for batting. There was not that much turn at all - the ball is just bouncing, but we have to start well tomorrow if we are going to win this game." said Harbhajan
Mark Butcher noted how past history could count against India. The left-handed opener said: "There's a statistic going round suggesting that every time Tendulkar scores a hundred India don't win the game."

South Africa in Australia

Australia got off to a blazing start in the first Test against South Africa , thanks to a brilliant century by Justin Langer before Claude Henderson struck for the Proteas. Australia ended Day 1 on 272 for the loss of 6 wickets.

Justin Langer rates his century against the South Africa in the First Test as one of his best ever. "I think it was a really exciting, the way today went, and it augurs well for the rest of the series. It's going to be a really, tough uncompromising battle," said Langer.

Darren Lehmann has become the greatest run scorer in the history of Australia's domestic first-class cricket competition. The former Test batsman passed Jamie Siddons' record on Saturday.
Lehmann needed just 17 runs to better Siddons' career total 10,643 runs when he came out to bat for South Australia against Victoria at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The new England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) academy will be sited at Loughborough University in the midlands, the England and Wales Cricket Board said.
The academy, similar to the Australian academy in Adelaide, will include two outdoor cricket pitches, grass nets and an indoor centre.
