Flintoff was finally stumped off left-arm spinner Paul Adams. With stands of 89 for the seventh wicket with Ashley Giles, 47 for the eighth with Darren Gough, 27 for the ninth with Steve Harmison and 46 for the last wicket with James Anderson, Flintoff salvaged some pride for England if not a draw.
"As we started losing wickets I had to play some shots to see how many runs we could get," he later said.
