Tendulkar has fully recovered: Leipus

August 26, 2003 17:42 IST

Sachin Tendulkar has fully recovered from a finger injury, Indian cricket team physio Andrew Leipus said at Bangalore.

"He (Tendulkar) is fine, and no complaints," Leipus told reporters when asked about the injury to the batsman, who recently underwent an operation in the US.

On Ashish Nehra, who is recovering from an ankle injury and has been rested for the Challenger series, Leipus said the left-arm pacer is 'coming on nicely.'

"I did not want to commit the left-arm seamer to a team and pull him out at the last minute. Doctors have advised him six weeks rest," he said, adding, Nehra would play in the Irany Trophy to be held in Chennai from September 18 to 22.

Meanwhile, coach John Wright issued a clarification on off-spinner Harbhajan Singh being rested for the Challenger series to be held at Bangalore from September 10 to 14.

"Harbhajan is not injured...no problem with his injury. It is just that we felt the best way to introduce Harbhajan to the new season is by playing him in the longer version of the game. He will play in Irani Trophy," he said.
