Team-mates hoist Alec Stewart after the Oval Test. It was 'Gaffer's' final appearance in international cricket. He also finished on the winning side in his first Test for England against the West Indies in 1990.
The 40-year-old wicket-keeper batsman served England well in 133 Tests, scoring 8,463 runs at an average of 39.54, scoring 15 centuries and 45 half-centuries. He also took 263 catches and made 14 stumpings.
'It was a perfect finish. I'll be in the gym tomorrow...but now it's time to get out my golf clubs and my Chelsea shirt,' Stewart, a lifetime follower of Roman Abramovich's club, said.
