Indian team to visit Pakistan in March

January 04, 2004 19:11 IST

India will tour Pakistan from March 1 to play three Tests and five one-day internationals, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said on Sunday.

"The detailed itinerary is still in the drawing board. We are talking to Pakistan board officials on this," BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said in Kolkata.

Dalmiya, who was speaking after a working committee meeting of the board, informed that the team would go to Bangladesh after its return from Pakistan to play two Test matches and three one-dayers.

The players will be given a couple of months' rest after their Bangladesh trip, following which they will play the Asia Cup in July.

After that they will participate in a triseries involving India, Pakistan and Australia in August in Europe, the BCCI chief said.

"The exact venue of the triseries is yet to be finalised. It will be either in Scotland, Ireland or Holland," Dalmiya said.

The team is also scheduled to play three one-dayers in England on September 1, 3 and 5 in the run-up to the Champions Trophy slated to begin from September 10, he said.
