Sri Lanka [Images] captain Marvan Atapattu praised his team, saying that they had shown a lot of character to come back and win in fifth one-dayer at Ahmedabad [Images], after being 4-0 down in the series.

On the eve of the sixth ODI, Atapattu told reporters in Rajkot that Sri Lanka could retain the team from the fifth match, which Sri Lanka won by five wickets.

''The combination did well in Ahmedabad, so I do not think we will change that,'' he said, adding that the final 12 (including the super sub) would be announced only on the morning of the match.

Stating that India was a tough opposition in these conditions, he praised Tillakaratne Dilshan [Images] for the way he finished off the match after the top batsmen had departed.

About his own form, Atapattu said he was regaining his touch but needed to stay on till the end for his team.

Atapattu praised fast bowler Chaminda Vaas [Images], who was also present for the press conference, terming him as a ''role model.''

''His basics as a bowler are perfect and it is something the other young bowlers in the team can learn from him,'' he said.

About the power plays, the Sri Lankan captain said, ''When you are doing well, everything falls into a platter, but it is when you are in trouble that these power plays become difficult to adjust.''

Sri Lanka's bowling spearhead Vaas said he has been bowling well in patches and hopes to bowl in the right areas on Wednedsay.

Vaas also said this tour would have been a huge learning curve for the young pace bowlers in the Sri Lankan team. ''These young bowlers have to learn to adjust in these conditions,'' he said.
