Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar [Images] has been ruled out of the second one-day international against India to be played in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq said the pace spearhead had failed to recover from a strain in his ankle.
"He has been ruled out of tomorrow's match. We will see if he can play in the third match in Lahore [Images]," he said.
The Pakistan team management had earlier said that Shoaib missed the first ODI in Peshawar due to the rotation policy empolyed by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
