Faisal's knock impresses Dravid

"He is impressed with my batting," said a delighted Faisal Iqbal [Images] after being complimented by India captain Rahul Dravid [Images] on his solid knock of 87 for Pakistan 'A' on the third and final day of the warm-up match in Lahore [Images] on Monday.
"I spoke to Dravid after the match and asked him if he could give me some tips that could help me further develop as a batsman."
"He then told me that he and the other Indian players were impressed with the way I batted and that I had shown the required temperament and concentration required for big time cricket," an excited Faisal told reporters after the match on Monday.
"It was very encouraging for someone like me to be told that by someone as established as Dravid," the 24-year-old added.
The youngster, who has played 10 Tests and 17 one-day internationals and has scored seven centuries and six half-centuries in the domestic season so far, said the Indian skipper also gave him some handy tips to improve his batting.
"He did discuss with me just how he prepared for a big match, the way he approached his batting and the things he did to improve his focus while out in the middle and I can tell you they are all very valuable tips for me given he is one of the leading batsmen today in world cricket," the nephew of former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad said.
Faisal said he wants to be recognised for his game rather than for his famous relation.
"It is an honour having Javed Miandad as your uncle but honestly speaking I want to carve out a name for myself on my own. I want people to recognise me as Faisal Iqbal not Javed Miandad's nephew," he said.
