West Indies [Images] fast bowler Corey Collymore was satisfied with his comeback from injury after the first day of the Test series against India on Friday.

In an impressive spell of controlled seam bowling, Collymore took three for 27 to help limit India to 235 for nine.

Collymore is playing his first Test since November after having surgery to remove a bone spur in his right knee.

"The injury was worrying, but I was glad for the rest," Collymore told reporters.

"I was missing in New Zealand [Images] (where the West Indies toured in February and March), but I came back and redeemed myself here against India and I was happy with my performance."

Collymore, who twisted his ankle in the final one-day international against India on Sunday, had to pass a fitness test before his selection was confirmed.

He was satisfied with the West Indian attack's efficient performance.

"All in all we had a good effort to start off the series, it was a good performance by us," Collymore said.

"I thought we bowled well, but we could have restricted them a bit more."

The Antigua Recreation Ground usually offers opportunities for heavy scoring, but Collymore said the bowlers were encouraged by the conditions they encountered.

"The surface in Antigua favours batsmen, but I thought the wicket was seaming a bit in the morning," Collymore said.
