The security of the players as well as the Jarrett Park venue will be a priority for the one-day warm-up game between India and WIPA Masters on Tuesday.
The Indian team will open their tour of the West Indies [Images] against a strong local squad and they will be accorded top-class security while in the Jamaican city.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rudolph Taylor outlined plans for the game and said they have devised a structured security detail for both the Indian players and the venue.
"The Indian team will be afforded security the minute they land at the match venues and at the team hotel," Taylor said.
"Jarrett Park would be subject to a security sweep at about 6:00 am on the day of the game and the police would then take charge of the venue to prevent any security breaches", he was quoted as saying by the Jamaica Observer.
In addition to searches of all patrons entering the venue, Taylor said they would also publish a list of prohibited items, including firearms, weapons, fireworks, devices for creating flames, alcoholic beverages, bottles and large igloos.
Jarrett Park, he said, will be divided into seven areas for their own purposes -- eastern and western stands, Montego Bay Cricket Club, main gate, public car park and inner cordon.
