Exit polls on television channels on Monday predicted a clear win for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh and for the Congress in Delhi. Rajasthan and Chhattishgarh, they said, face the prospect of hung assemblies.

The BJP is shown to have a slight edge in Rajasthan though no party is projected to get a majority.

An ORG-Marg exit poll on Aaj Tak said the BJP is likely to get between 140 and 150 seats in the 230-member Madhya Pradesh assembly, with 55-65 seats for the Congress.

In Rajasthan, the BJP is shown to have an edge over the Congress with 85-95 seats compared to 70-80 for the latter in the 200-member assembly.

It predicts a deadlock in the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly with both the ruling Congress and BJP tied at 35-45 seats.

It predicts between 50 and 60 seats for the Congress in the 70-member Delhi assembly.

The DRS exit poll, on Sahara Samay channel, predicted that the BJP would get 89 out of the 200 seats in Rajasthan and Congress 84 seats.

In Madhya Pradesh, it forecast 168 of the 230 seats would go to the BJP and 44 for the Congress.

For the 70-member Delhi assembly, it gave 38 seats to the Congress and 25 to the BJP.

While the ORG-Marg exit poll on Aaj Tak had a sample size of 21,600 covering two assembly segments in each parliamentary constituency, Sahara did not reveal details about its survey.

Star News, quoting an A C Nielson exit poll, forecast 50 seats for the Congress and 11 for BJP in Delhi. It gave the BJP 121 seats in Madhya Pradesh and 71 to the Congress. In Chhattisgarh, it gave 46 seats to the BJP and 38 to the Congress. The channel said Rajasthan would witness a neck-to-neck race.

Pre-poll surveys had indicated that the Congress would retain Delhi, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh but may lose Madhya Pradesh to the BJP.
