In a major relief to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, a Delhi court on Friday dismissed a complaint accusing him of 'concealing facts' and filing a 'false and fabricated affidavit' for procuring a petrol pump in Delhi as an MP in 1994.

The court said the offence of cheating had not been completed, as the pump had not been allotted to Jogi.

Metropolitan Magistrate Nivedita Anil Sharma also said there was a lapse of more than eight years since the date of the incident and the delay in making the complaint had not been satisfactorily explained.

Secondly, since the documents were filed before the Oil Selection Board, it is the Board that should file the complaint.

Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Nand Kumar Sai had filed the case alleging that Jogi furnished a false affidavit about his family income and residence proof before the OSB while applying for the pump. Jogi gave up the pump allotted to him after the matter attracted public attention, he claimed.
