What: Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bangalore, a Department of Information Technology (Government of India) Center of Excellence for Research and Training in Bioinformatics, invites applications for the following courses.
Courses
Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics
Eligibility: Graduates/ Postgraduates from Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Agriculture, Veterinary or any Lifescience discipline.
Postgraduate Diploma in Biotechniques
Eligibility: MSc in any Lifescience discipline, B Tech (Biotech) and MBBS students.
Postgraduate Diploma in Cheminformatics
Eligibility: Graduates/Postgraduates from any branch of Chemistry, Pharmacy, BE/B Tech in Chemical Engineering.
Last date for sending the filled application form: July 12, 2009
Date of entrance test: July 19, 2009
Course commencement: September 15, 2009
All India Entrance Test Centers: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai [Images], New Delhi [Images].
About IBAB
IBAB has moved to its own 20-acre campus in Electronics City with excellent infrastructure, students' hostel and other amenities. It has recently added several state of the art facilities to its bioinformatics and biotechnology laboratories to enhance its training and research capabilities. IBAB will shortly be hosting a Bio-IT center, a multi institutional public-private partnership effort under the aegis of Department of Information Technology, Government of India, and Department of IT, BT and ST, Government of Karnataka, that will host cutting edge platforms for genome sequencing and data analysis. The institute has also initiated its PhD programme affiliated to Manipal University.
IBAB has world-class faculty trained from top-notch institutions with significant teaching and research experience. The students are exposed to the most recent advances in the biotech industry and academic research through the large number of scientists who visit IBAB all year around from across the globe.
