Up, flat and down: Nifty gains over three points, 903.60
Pivotals registered modest gains at the National Stock Exchange in Bombay today. The market opened on a buoyant note, moved in a narrow range before declining towards the end of the trading session. 69 securities hit their price bands. Total turnover was Rs 14.71 billion from trades in 69.03 million shares. S&P CNX Nifty rose by 3.65 points to end at 903.60 points from the last close of 899.95 points. It opened at 900.20 points and witnessed a high of 916.80 and low of 900.20. CNX Nifty Junior registered a rise of 6.60 points to close at 1496.60. CNX Midcap 200 closed at 527.43 gaining 3.81 points. S&P Defty ended at 736.05 rising by 3.40 points. S&P CNX 500 climbed by 2.94 points to 611.75. ITC led the turnover rally with Rs 2.34 billion followed by Satyam Computers (Rs 2.16 billion), Reliance (Rs 1.41 billion), Zee (Rs 1.17 billion), SBI (Rs 881.7 billion) and Pentafour Software (Rs 775.7 billion). The other scrips that recorded a high turnover were MTNL, Castrol, Dr Reddy's, HCL-HP, Tata Tea, ACC and Silverline.
