Silver steady, gold dips a tad even as industrial users buy

Silver ruled better while gold eased modestly at the local bullion market today.

Raw silver variety flared up again by Rs 15 to Rs 7,910 per kilogram on renewed demand from local dealers as well as industrial users.

However, ready silver 0.999 remained unchanged at Rs 8,030 on lack of fresh interest, due to steady upcountry advices.

But gold standard mint and 22-carat prices dropped modestly by Rs 5 each to Rs 4,075 and Rs 3,770 nominal per ten gm respectively on scattered offerings at the previous higher level from local stock-holders. The demand was very poor.

However, gold biscuit price remained unchanged at Rs 47,800 per ten tola in the absence of fresh buying support mainly from jewellery units.

Following are the closing rates (including all taxes):

  • Ready silver (per kg) 0.999 Rs 8,030 (Rs 8,030).
  • Raw silver (per kg) Rs 7910 (Rs 7,895).
  • Gold (per ten grams) standard mint Rs 4,075 (Rs 4,080).
  • 22-carat Rs 3,770 (Rs 3,775).
  • Gold bar (ten tola) Rs 47,800 (Rs 47,800).
