Outsourcing IT requirements has helped save 25 to 40 per cent on the annual budget, many of the over 80 US and other major firms that attended Satyam Computer Services' global customer summit in the US said.
Participating in a survey as part of the three-day meet in California recently, 25 per cent of the companies said they saved at least 40 per cent on their annual IT budget by outsourcing offshore.
Outsourcing has a cascading benefit in the global economy, the company representatives who attended the meet from May four to six said.
The theme of the summit was 'Business Fusion,' signifying blending of technology, culture and nature, a Satyam release here said.
Delivering the keynote address, former US vice president, Al Gore stressed the importance of free trade principles in outsourcing.
Opening the summit, Satyam chairman B Ramalinga Raju said, "SatyamWorld is emblematic of our dedication to building customer intimacy through the values of trust, integrity, and transparency."
