Forex reserves up $287mn to $117.88bn

Foreign exchange reserves rose $287 million to $117.879 billion in the week ended April 23, 2004 from $117.592 billion in the previous week, according to the weekly supplement released by the Reserve Bank of India on Saturday.

 Foreign currency assets moved up $291 million to $112.394 billion.

Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $4.198 billion and $2 million, respectively.

Reserve Tranche Position with the International Monetary Fund declined $4 million to $1.285 billion from $1.289 billion, the release said.
