'The sheer scale of Pakeezah was tremendous'![]()
In today's issue, art director
Pakeezah: The sheer scale on which the sets were mounted was tremendous. Also, the glamour attached to the film made it look larger than life. Mashaal: The set constructed for the basti (slums) was so authentic that not once one would feel it's only a set. Every minute detail was taken care of; it's one of the most realistic sets I've seen. Utsaav: The entire atmosphere of that particular era in which the film was set was recreated. One actually felt transported back to that era. Also, the canvas on which the sets were mounted was really large.
