Meghalaya to add another minister
Meghalaya's 10-day old United Parliamentary Forum ministry would
be expanded again this week. Chief Minister B B Lyngdoh said
legislator Mihsalan Suchiang would be sworn in.
The government, led by the United Democratic Party, has 27
ministers in a House of 60.
Meanwhile, the district magistrate of East Khasi hills, Shillong, has
imposed prohibitory order within a radius
of 500 metres of the Meghalaya legislative assembly.
The order was issued in view of the Lyngdoh ministry's trial of strength in a special assembly session on March 23.
The prohibitory order would remain in force till March 24.
