Principled people will follow me: KalyanKalyan Singh today said his expulsion from the Bharatiya Janata Party had caused commotion in the party. Talking to journalists in Lucknow today, he said it was for the future to decide whether his expulsion would divide the party or not but said principled people will follow him out. Yet he repeated that his suspension and expulsion were done at the behest of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee alone. That L K Advani termed his suspension a collective decision merely showed the home minister's 'large-heartedness', Singh said. Asked about the relationship between Vajpayee and Advani, Kalyan Singh said, "My answer is neither yes nor no." He said principled people in the party would come with him after his expulsion. He said Advani's two rath yatras had made the party popular with the people, raising it from a party with two seats to the one in power. Singh said Vajpayee had refused to support Advani's Somnath to Ayodhya rath yatra and claimed that it was Advani's hard work that had ensured that Vajpayee still remained the prime minister. |
