McKinsey's Gupta To Address Bengali ConventionFifty-two hours of cultural presentations, exhibitions of paintings and sale of Bengali music and books are just a small part of the North American Bengali convention organized between July 2 and 4 by Bay Area Prabasi Inc. There is heavy emphasis on start-up businesses and leveraging West Bengal in high tech businesses. The convention will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Keynote speakers at the business forum on July 3, 10 am to 5 pm are Rajat Gupta, the McKinsey chief (on leadership) , Shailesh Mehta of Providian Financial (on what they don't teach in business schools), Purnendu Chatterjee of the Chatterjee Group (on doing business in India) and Somnath Chatterjee, former member of Parliament (on the business environment in West Bengal). On July 2, a career fair is to be held between 1 pm and 4 pm. Among the speakers are Shankar Bhattacharya, PG&E; Somshankar Das of Walden Investment; Vinod Dham of Silicon Spice; Rahul Roy of Mirror Plus; and Arjun Malhotra of HCL, America.
