Bihar, Rajasthan begin to swelterHeat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Bihar plains and west Rajasthan. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Bihar plateau, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, northeast Madhya Pradesh and coastal Tamil Nadu, and were above normal in west Madhya Pradesh, north Gujarat state, central Maharashtra, Telangana and interior Tamil Nadu. They were appreciably below normal in Kashmir, and below normal in Sikkim, Jammu and in parts of Saurashtra. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunchal Pradesh from where the data were sparse. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in parts of north central Maharashtra and below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and in parts of south Konkan and of Telangana. They were appreciably above normal in Manipur, Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Orissa, Bihar plateau, south Rajasthan, northeast Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and in parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and of Vidarbha. They were above normal in Tamil Nadu. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunchal Pradesh from where the data were sparse. Rain or snow occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, and at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Haryana, Punjab, south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
