Loktantrik Congress threatens to pull out of Kalyan govt

E-Mail this report to a friend

Loktantrik Congress chief and Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Naresh Agarwal has said his party would consider withdrawing support to the Kalyan Singh government if the Bharatiya Janata Party failed to check the dissident legislators' activities.

Addressing the media, Agarwal said the activities had an adverse effect on the coalition's image.

He said his party had extended support to the BJP-led government in the state for the sake of stability. ''The recent developments are defeating the very purpose of the support,'' he said.

He said there was resentment among his partymen as the LC was not taken into confidence while making nominations to various boards and corporations in the state.

He said his party would have seat adjustments with the BJP and contest 10 Lok Sabha seats.
