Kalyan Singh not to be disturbedUttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party unit president Rajnath Singh has said that the question of removing Chief Minister Kalyan Singh did not arise. After his meeting with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani and BJP president Kushabhau Thakre, the chief minister too was confident that he would not be disturbed. ''Individually and collectively they have assured me that I would continue as chief minister,'' Kalyan Singh told the media. Rajnath Singh said that the BJP would tie up with its allies for the coming elections and that the sharing of seats would be decided after talks. He said the party secured 36 per cent votes in the 1996 elections and this percentage would rise to 42 per cent in the next election. Additional reportage: UNI
