'Enough evidence' to link Lashkar to attack: Fernandes

He said the LeT was 'clearly a Pakistani outfit'.

"No outfit can take this type of step without support of the people who have brought it up," the defence minister told Star News.

He rubbished Pakistan's allegation that the attack was the handiwork of the Indian intelligence agencies.

"Basic question is to see what were they up to. Weren't they up to blowing up Parliament and blowing up the entire political leadership of the country?" Fernandes asked.

Meanwhile, in Jalandhar, Union Law minister Arun Jaitley denied the opposition allegation of intelligence and security failure in Thursday's terrorist attack on Parliament.

"It cannot be termed as an intelligence failure because the government had intelligence inputs of the possibility of such a strike," he told reporters.

"It is also wrong to term it a security failure because the security forces have done a commendable job by not only shooting down five terrorists within 20 minutes, but also preventing them from entering the building," Jaitley said.
