Recall of Indian envoy unfortunate: Qazi

Pakistan High Commissioner to India Ashraf Jehangir Qazi on Friday described as 'unfortunate' the Indian government's decision to recall its high commissioner in his country and said his government was ready to take action against terrorists if it was supplied proof of their involvement.

In an interview to Aaj Tak Qazi said that India had failed to supply proof that Lashkar-e-Tayiba or any other terrorists group based in Pakistan had been behind the attack on Parliament House on December 13.

He said even the United States had absolved Pakistan of any responsibility in the December 13 incident and asked both countries to work jointly to wipe out terrorism.

Qazi added that his country was opposed to terrorism and therefore would act whenever evidence was supplied.

He refused to answer a question about taking action against the LeT.

He said he was an optimist and hoped the matter would not get aggravated any further.
