The National Democratic Alliance on Wednesday expressed full support to and solidarity with the prime minister and his leadership, in the wake the crisis engulfing the government over the defence deals scam.
According to Murasoli Maran of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the meeting expressed complete solidarity with the government and underscored that Parliament will decide how the allegations will be probed. He, however, pointed out that Trinamul Congress chief Mamta Banerjee or any of her party members did not attend the meeting but instead wrote a letter to the PM expressing her concern on the issue.
Maran emphasised that nobody asked for the resignation of any minister in the government and contended, "We share mamtaji's concern." He said appropriate form of inquiry into the matter will be decided in Parliament.
Earlier, Akali Dal leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa also emphasised that all the NDA constituents fully supported the government's stand that the matter should be discussed in Parliament.
