Monsoon fails to keep date with Delhi

June 29, 2003 21:50 IST

The monsoon that was to arrive in Delhi on Sunday, has been delayed by two or three days, Indian Meteorological Officials said.

IMD Additional Director General S R Kalsi said the delay is an outcome of the changes in the circulation pattern over the northern plains.

However, pre-monsoon showers on Sunday brought down the mercury in Delhi and surrounding areas by 3.2 degree Celsius.

The IMD attributed the showers to a disturbance over Pakistan.
