Union Human Resources Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi on Monday filed a petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court challenging the Rae Bareli court decision against him in the Ayodhya demolition case and seeking a stay on the proceedings in the case.

Joshi's petition, filed in the court registry, is likely to be heard on Tuesday, sources said.

In the criminal revision petition, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader has sought quashing of the September 19 order in which the Rae Bareli judge has decided to frame charges against him in the Babri Masjid case on October 10.

Joshi has, meanwhile, sought a stay on the proceedings in the lower court.
