Natwar to attend Cairo funeral

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has dropped her plans to attend Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's funeral in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday.

External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh will lead the Indian delegation, which includes Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed and Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Sitaram Yechury, sources said on Thursday.

Ahamed, currently on a visit to Saudi Arabia, will join the delegation in Cairo.
