A flag meeting will be held between the Border Security Force and Bangladesh Rifles on Wednesday at Kamthana, a border village in West Tripura district. 

The bodies of two Bangladeshis who were gunned down by the BSF for illegally entering India will be handed over, BSF Inspector-General SK Dutta said.

"The BDR had asked for the flag meeting and we have agreed to organise it on the Indian side where the bodies of the illegal Bangladeshi entrants would be handed over," Dutta said. 

He said the situation in Kamthana area was normal but additional forces have been deployed to thwart subversive activities.

The two Bangladeshis were killed on Tuesday in crossfire between the BSF and 25-30 Bangladeshi nationals who had entered half-a-kilometre inside Indian territory in boats. A BSF patrol had spotted 10-12 boats carrying the Bangladeshi nationals, who wanted to lift sand from the bank of the Bijoy river.

The Bangladeshis opened fire on the BSF patrol after they were challenged by the jawans. Two intruders were killed in retaliatory firing by the BSF.
