The Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa [Images] has flown all its legislators to Jaipur for a holiday in an effort to keep its flock together till the Congress-led government proves its majority in the state assembly.
Seventeen BJP legislators arrived in Jaipur in a regular private airline. They are staying in a resort on the outskirts of the city, party sources said.
The MLAs are expected to be in Jaipur till Friday night. "The party high command can shift them again at any moment," they added.
The MLAs are likely to meet President A P J Abdul Kalam to complain against the dismissal of the BJP government in Goa.
On February 3, Congress leader Pratap Singh Rane was sworn in as the chief minister replacing Manohar Parrikar [Images].
Goa Governor S C Jamir dismissed the Manohar Parrikar government after it was reduced to a minority on January 29.
Rane has to prove his majority by March 4 in the 38-member assembly, failing which the state would be put under President's rule.
