The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Goa [Images] Democratic Alliance will approach Supreme Court on Tuesday challenging the manner in which the vote of confidence was held in the legislative assembly on Monday.

"We have decided to approach the Supreme Court to get justice despite having numbers on our side. The floor-test was bulldozed by the Speaker," Manohar Parrikar [Images], GDA leader, told PTI on Monday night.

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, heading the Congress-led coalition government, won the confidence-vote after the Speaker Pratapsinh Rane restrained three opposition legislators from voting.

The GDA legislators will be in New Delhi on Tuesday to meet the President and seek her intervention in the matter.

On Saturday, GDA legislators had paraded themselves before the President.

"We are going back again on Tuesday," Parrikar said.

Earlier in the evening, Parrikar along with BJP national general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy met Governor S C Jamir stating the floor-test conducted by the Speaker was 'incorrect.'

Handing over the copy of the assembly proceedings, Parrikar alleged the proceedings were not conducted as per the rule.

"While voice vote was taken, the Speaker voted in the House, which is usually done in case of division of vote. Later he withdrew his vote... He was entirely confused and did not take the confidence motion correctly," he told media persons.

Parrikar said the Speaker was 'not in the correct frame of mind' while conducting the floor-test.

"He acted partisan and did not even allow me to raise point of order, which is my right... You can see the proceedings, I have tried to raise point of order at least 19 times," Parrikar said, adding that the Governor has assured to look into the matter.      

"The fact remains that Kamat government has lost the majority in the House and it should be dismissed immediately," the Leader of the Opposition said.
