Priyanka, the widow of computer graphics teacher Rizwarn Rehman, whose death had led to fingers being pointed at senior Kolkata police officials, told the West Bengal Human Rights Commission that there was no pressure from the police on her to return to her industrialist father's home.

"There was no police pressure on me," she told a state Women's Commission delegation that called on her at the Salt Lake residence of her father, Ashok Todi, on Tuesday.

Priyanka said though she was summoned by the police after her marriage to Rizwan on August 18, 'no police officer had ill-treated her,' a member of the commission said on Wednesday on condition of anonymity.

Priyanka also said she had returned to her father's house on her own after learning that he was ill, the Women's Commission member said.

Priyanka told the Commission members that she was traumatised by Rizwan's death and still loved him and was missing him.

Remaining incommunicado since her husband's death, Priyanka was reported to have left for Tirupati with her parents.

She also did not like media publicity over her husband's death and wanted to live a normal life, the Commission member said.

The Women's Commission members were led by it chairperson, Yasodhara Bagchi.

Rizwan was found dead besides railway tracks at Dum Dum, far from his home in Park Circus in Kolkata on September 21.
