Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party MP Babubhai Katara has announced his decision to follow the party's diktat and vote aginst the United Progressive Alliance government in the trust vote in Lok Sabha on July 22.

Katara was suspended from the party soon after his arrest from Delhi airport last year when he was taking a woman to Canada [Images] under a fake name and showing her to be his wife.

Katara, a two-time MP, elected from reserved Dohad Lok Sabha constituency, had to spend more than a year in jail in Delhi before the court granted him bail.

His arrest had affected the image of the BJP, which suspended him from the party.

In a statement, Katara said nobody from the party has approached him so far for voting for the party in the trust vote.

He said he was obliged to the BJP for giving him a ticket and getting him elected to Lok Sabha twice from Dohad.

Even if BJP does not give me a party ticket for next Lok Sabha poll, I would continue to remain loyal to the ideology of BJP and its leadership, Katara said.

After his release from jail on bail, Katara refrained from atending any official party functions in his constituncy.
