The Goa [Images] police have summoned Fiona Mackeown, mother of slain British teenager Scarlett Eden Keeling, for questioning on Saturday at Panaji's juvenile police station.
Mackeown's advocate Vikram Varma said two policemen who appeared at Fiona's residence on Friday night served the summons under the Goa Children's Act.
The mother will appear before police on Saturday at 10 am.
The Goa police had claimed that the mystery behind death of Scarlett, who was found dead on state's popular Anjuna beach, has been solved with the arrest of two accused -- Samson D'Souza and Placido Carvalho.
While Samson has been charged with drugging, rape and murder, Placido was charged with drugging and conspiring with Samson in the murder.
"We have registered the case under Goa Children's Act and hence Fiona has been called to depose before the police. We are acting on her complaint," North Goa Superintendent of Police Bosco George said.
He denied that Fiona was being charged under the Act, as speculated by the media in last couple of days.
Even as hectic interrogation continued, Placido, alleged drug dealer, was admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital as "he fell sick in custody".
"He was not well. May be, he was suffering from drug withdrawal symptoms," George said.
