Trainer's Report
Deepak Thakur is fast, Gagan Ajit Singh agile and Prabhjot Singh has good stamina. But overall, the fittest player in the Indian hockey team is cool-headed defender Dilip Tirkey.
This is the observation of Indian hockey team trainer Sampath Kumar, who was in charge of the 13 players who attended the fitness camp at the picturesque hill resort of Barog in Himachal Pradesh.
Besides working on their strengths, Sampath also attempted to help the players rid themselves of some "minor weaknesses" so that a "fully-fit winning combination" can be in place for the Athens Olympics.
