Shri Dakheshwar temple is situated away from the town, near a shady ghat. The main shrine is dedicated to a gilded snake, symbolising Shiva. As the tale goes, Sati, Shiva's wife, committed suicide at this spot, when her father failed to invite her husband to a yagna -- or sacrifice -- taking place here.
